How to show your products free on Google Shopping (Merchant Center)
Show your products free on Google Shopping.
These are the same steps you see beside the settings in your shop's back office.
- Press Open Google Merchant Center and sign in with the same Google account you use for Search Console. Press Get started if it's new.
- Enter your business name, choose United Kingdom, and say customers buy on your website. Website:
your shop's web address. - Google asks you to verify and claim your website. If Search Console is already verified with this Google account it's done for you. Otherwise choose Add an HTML tag, copy the tag and paste it under "Verify your domain" on this page (you can keep more than one tag there), save, then press Verify in Merchant Center.
- Add your products: go to Settings › Data sources (or Products › Feeds), press Add product source, choose Add products from a file, then Enter a link to your file.
- Paste
the product feed address shown on Online store › Google, Meta and AIand set it to fetch Daily. Google reads your products, prices, photos and stock from it every day, so you never upload by hand. - Fill in Shipping and returns in Merchant Center (your delivery prices and return policy). Google won't show products without them.
- Leave Automatic item updates switched on (Settings › Automatic improvements). Google then corrects price and stock between daily fetches from the product data on each product page, so a price change never gets your products suspended.
- Check Products › Needs attention after a day and fix anything Google flags, such as missing photos or barcodes.
Free listings show your products on the Google Shopping tab and Google Images at no cost. The feed is built live from your products, so its prices and stock are the same as your shop pages. The same feed also powers Shopping ads if you use Google Ads later.
