How to get your Google verification tag

Get the Google verification tag for Search Console.

Open Google Search Console (opens in a new tab)

These are the same steps you see beside the settings in your shop's back office.

  1. Press the button above and sign in with the Google account you use for the shop.
  2. On the right, under URL prefix, type your shop's web address and press Continue.
  3. Under Other verification methods, open HTML tag and press Copy. It looks like <meta name="google-site-verification" content="…">.
  4. Paste it in the box below and press Save.
  5. Go back to Google and press Verify. A green tick means it worked.

Merchant Center asks for the same thing: paste its tag on a new line in the same box.
